The best event ticketing platforms for Indian organizers

The first question for an Indian organizer isn't features — it's whether the platform can pay you. Several popular global tools can't: Luma's help centre says it can't support Stripe accounts based in India, and India isn't on Eventbrite's payment processing payout list.

So we started with rupee payouts, then looked at fees, how people discover your event, and what happens to your audience after the event ends.

Methodology

How we chose

  • Pays out to organizers based in India, in rupees
  • Clear fee structure, and who bears it
  • Built-in discovery so new people find your event
  • Tools that keep attendees coming back: community, campaigns, memberships
  • Analytics that show where bookings drop off

We make Hiive, so we’ve said where another pick is better and linked official sources for every claim about other products.

The picks

  1. 01

Hiive: Best for recurring active events and communities

Tickets with payouts in ₹ and platform-fee tax invoices, plus what ticketing tools leave out: Hives for your community, request/invite/application entry, campaigns, a booking funnel and venue schedules. Events also surface to people nearby in the Hiive app.

Watch out: Newer, with coverage deepest in Mumbai. Pricing is agreed per partner after a free pilot rather than published.

    02

Townscript: Best self-serve ticketing built in India

Rupee pricing, handling for GST-registered organizers, custom registration forms, discounts and multi-date events, and you choose who bears the fees.

Watch out: A ticketing tool rather than a community: no chat, memberships or venue schedules.

District by Zomato: Best for consumer reach on big nights out

Built on the Paytm Insider ticketing business and backed by Zomato's parent Eternal, District puts events in front of a large going-out audience across India.

Watch out: Listings go through an application and organizer fees aren't published. No community or membership tools.

    04

Eventbrite: Best for global events and free listings

A large international marketplace and a mature ticketing toolkit. Free events list at no cost.

Watch out: India isn't on Eventbrite's payment processing payout list, so check how you'd be paid before selling tickets.

    05

Luma: Best for free community and tech events

Beautiful event pages, approvals, check-in and guest blasts across email, SMS, push and WhatsApp.

Watch out: Luma says it can't support Stripe accounts based in India, so it suits free events here.

Questions

India-built platforms such as Hiive and Townscript pay organizers in rupees, and District by Zomato is India-only. Luma says it cannot support Stripe accounts based in India, and India is not on Eventbrite's payment processing payout list (as of October 2026).

Free events cost nothing on most platforms. For paid events, compare the platform fee, the payment gateway fee and who bears them — Townscript publishes its fees, while Hiive is free for the first couple of months and then agrees a fee with each partner based on value.

Luma's help centre says it can't support Stripe accounts based in India and that it supports no other payment processor, so Indian hosts generally use Luma for free events.
